Discover how churches and schools became the foundation of African American life in South Jersey’s historic Black enclaves. This panel highlights the histories of Timbuctoo’s AME Zion Church, Solomon Wesley Church and Cemetery in Davistown (Erial), Bethel Othello AME (Springtown/Greenwich), and Lawnside’s early churches and schools. These presentations demonstrate how communities used faith and education to preserve culture, strengthen families, and create opportunities for future generations.
